Energy and materials research for space travel is gaining importance worldwide—because missions in Earth orbit, to the Moon, Mars, or further deep space projects place the highest demands on weight, reliability, service life, and environmental stability of energy supplies and materials. We combine decades of expertise in functional materials, nanostructured materials, thermophysical characterization, and energy management to develop customized solutions for the challenges of space travel.
With our holistic approach—from material development and characterization to component integration—we are helping to make space technologies more efficient, lighter, more robust, and more sustainable. Our research is aimed equally at industrial companies, space agencies, and research institutions working in the fields of satellites, orbital modules, space stations, and future exo-missions.
