Digitalisation hub in power engineering

The hub will present results of current projects to the public. It will demonstrate feasibility and thus accelerate the market availability of innovations. Initial projects with a digitization focus at CAE include:

KICk-StARtER-G (AI-based controller for comfort-based control of thermal systems and control loops to increase the energy and resource efficiency of buildings), in which energy consumption and thermal sensation are to be predicted and optimized using machine learning.
Funding body: BMBF, funding code: 01IS23003B
Duration from 01.03.2023 to 28.02.2026

ADLESCON (Advanced Deep-Learning System Control), in which deep-learning algorithms are used to autonomously optimize commercial refrigeration systems.
Funding body: StMWi, funding code: DIE-2108-0002// DIE0144/02
Duration from 01.02.2021 to 30.11.2023

GIPScycle Resource-efficient recycled drywall panels
In the GIPScycle project, a groundbreaking test method is being developed and validated that enables the identification of contaminants in plasterboard waste by using artificial intelligence. The main aim of this project is to close the cycle of plasterboard, as a significant proportion of this waste currently ends up in landfills. With successful recycling, the gypsum material can potentially be reused endlessly and reintegrated into the production of new gypsum board.
The successful recycling of gypsum products can help to meet the increasing demand for building materials while simultaneously conserving natural resources. By establishing an efficient recycling process for plasterboard waste, an important contribution is made to promote a sustainable and resource-efficient construction industry.
